Helping children in crisis, one Bag of Love at a time
Unfortunately, every day there are children in the Eugene-Springfield area who are traumatized when they are taken away from everything they know—loved ones, possessions, even their home. Whether it’s from homelessness, the effects of poverty or being rescued from an unsafe home environment, these kids frequently leave with nothing to call their own in such scary times. They are afraid, disoriented, and desperate for comfort. This is where a “Bag of Love” can help.
What you give, we give…
to children in Lane County struggling with disaster, emergencies, homelessness, poverty and upheaval in their lives. When you donate new or gently-used goods, you can be confident that they will be in the hands of a local child--at no cost to the family or to our qualified partner agencies--almost immediately.
The only purpose of Bags of Love, Inc. is to provide our bags to various community agencies to assist any child that may be in crisis. We are an all-volunteer organization. All of our operating expenses and the funds to purchase items that are not donated for the bags are obtained from grants, sponsorships and donations from many caring individuals, businesses and organizations.
When you donate cash, you can be confident that those dollars are used to purchase items that have not been donated for the bags or to pay the overhead to keep our doors open (by the way, none of the staff at Bags of Love is paid; all of us volunteer our time and services to a cause we are passionate about.)
